The Woman with the Issue of Blood is one of the most popular stories in the bible. I want to share a few insights from that scripture. Let us read the scripture together
Mark 5:25-29 NKJV
Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.
The first thing to note in the first sentence is that she had been suffering from the issue of blood for 12 years and she had suffered many things from doctors. A lot of us have very serious problems/issues like masturbation, illness, depression, lack of concentration, addiction, drug abuse, sexual perversion etc We have tried many physical things like seeing doctors, and counsellors and seeking help from online mediums but nothing seems to bring the solution to set you free. Some of us have been going through these issues for many years just like this woman who has suffered for 12 years. She was desperate and ready to be delivered and she decided to take a bold step. It is time for you to take that bold step to encounter Jesus.
Also like this woman, a lot of us have heard about Jesus Christ from our childhood and His supernatural powers. We have heard things like Jesus is our saviour, Jesus came into the world to save us from our sins, Jesus is a miracle worker and a healer, and Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. But we have not had a personal encounter with him. This woman decided that it was not enough to hear about Jesus she wanted to have an encounter with Him. She wanted to come close to Him to be sure what she heard was not a fable or a story. She wanted to touch Him to know that His healing power is real. It is not enough to hear about Jesus you need to take the bold step to meet Him for an encounter or an experience.
The first thing she did was to come closer to Jesus. We need to come closer to Jesus to be able to have an encounter with Him for the deliverance of our sins and afflictions. To come close to Jesus means to come close to His word the bible and anything that glorifies Jesus ( eg. worship music, sermons from men of God and going to a bible believing church ) You cannot experience Jesus when you are far from Him and the things of Him. You cannot also touch someone who is far from you. The woman took a step and made a bold decision to come closer to Jesus. Make that bold decision now and you will not regret it.
The woman said in her heart that when she touches the garment of Jesus she will be made well. You need to believe in your heart that when you come close to Jesus you will be delivered of that affliction or disease. Develop a positive mindset that when I come close to Jesus, I will be delivered of that affliction. She had high and positive expectations about her meeting with Jesus. You can also say in your heart that once I come close to Jesus this disease will pack and leave my body.
The final thing she did was to touch the Garment of Jesus. Once she touched the clothes of Jesus she was made well instantly. You need to make up your mind now and touch Jesus. Deliverance is the default for you when you are close to Jesus. The bible says there is nothing too hard for the Lord – Jeremiah 32:27 – “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me? All you need to do is to touch just a little part of Jesus. Jesus will continue from there. The woman’s miracle was instant. The more you keep running away from Jesus, the more you are bound by that affliction but the closer you draw to Jesus, the answers will be close to You. Jesus is the answer.
I believe you are wondering how to touch the garment of Jesus. You can touch Jesus by reading your bible, obeying the commandments of the lord, listening and singing worship songs and praying to God. You can do this step by step. You can spend a few minutes a day on any of these activities. You will gradually begin to love these activities. The woman got Jesus’s full attention after she touched His garment. The Bible says in Mark 5:30 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” She only touched a small part of Jesus and she managed to get Jesus’s full attention. Just start the activities little by little and you will be shocked at what Jesus will do in your life.
Another interesting thing that happened after her instant miracle was that she felt inside of her she was free. Mark 5:29b “and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. “Once you touch Jesus, you begin to feel an inner peace within your body that you are free. The encounter changes your inner being and your spirit begins to feel the peace and healing the woman felt when she was delivered. You will begin to notice the burden of that affliction or depression will be lifted from you. You become lighter. I pray Jesus delivers you from anything that you have been suffering from.
