I grew up knowing Jesus as the man I met in church only on Sundays. There was no connection with Him – the only time I remember Him is when I occasionally prayed before sleeping or eating, and even that was just by way of habit. Sunday sermons were the most boring. A few years ago I was living the” best time” of my life but out of nowhere a wind blew and everything in my life came crashing, from my business to my relationship at that point I knew I had two options. Either I turn to the devil or to Christ. For some reason, I decided to give Jesus a try. It wasn’t an easy journey, I began to read the bible, pray more, and listen to sermons and gospel music. I began to go to church more frequently. Once I took these little steps, I began to develop an appetite for the things of God – and the appetite kept growing as I ploughed deeper. I couldn’t have enough. Remember in John 15:16 the Bible says “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you”. Once I showed a little interest in finding an answer in Jesus, He gave me an appetite to yearn for the things of Him. Gradually everything fell into place for me from a business, and relationships to all the requests I had and more importantly I met Jesus who touched me and delivered me from the shackles of addiction. 

Once you begin to search for the miracle worker Jesus, He cleans you from any form of shackle that the enemy has held you down with. I was addicted to pornography and smoking cigarettes. I had been watching porn for more than 12 years and smoking for about 10 years. Once I began to chase the things of God by reading the word, listening to sermons and worshipping, the appetite for these things vanished gradually and within 6 months I had quit both pornography and cigarettes completely. John 15:3 says  “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you”. By reading the word of God you are already clean. The enemy cannot hold you to ransom. Today I am happy I made a decision to follow Jesus. He hasn’t disappointed me – He cleansed me. He has ordered my steps and He is now using me to bring people to the Kingdom. The biggest goal of the enemy is for you to believe Jesus is dormant but Jesus is doing wonders even this second that you are reading this tract. The Jesus you have read about healing the sick and setting the captives free in the bible is the same today. Hebrews 13:8 says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”.

I made one decision and it changed my life. You can make the same decision now. Do not let your thoughts and feelings tell you Jesus is not close to you or there is no chemistry between you and Jesus. Begin to call His name and search for Him in the Bible. Give Him a try. Find a bible believing Church and join. Jesus will not fail you. He delivered the Israelites who were kept in bondage for more than 400 years in Egypt, He can deliver you from whatever bondage you are in, whether you are backsliding, addicted to pornography, engaging in fornication, homosexuality, alcoholism, etc. He is ready to cleanse you and use you for greater works. Just begin to search for Him by reading the Bible, and attending a Bible-believing Church, and it will be a blessing to you.

SAY THIS PRAYER TO RECEIVE JESUS

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.
